Hi, I just thought I'd give you the lowdown on the Milwaukee show. First of all, Hum opened. That wasn't too great, actually I fell asleep until their one big hit was played. The Pumpkins finally came out on time. James was wearing black pants and like a black button down shirt. Billy was wearing black pants and shoes and a black blazer. D'arcy was wearing really low white hip huggers, and black boots with that see-through black shirt she is wearing on the Adore booklet, also, she was wearing black horns on her head. They began with a charged version of "To Sheila". This was a lot more rockin than on the CD. I think that "Tear" was what really got the crowd going. The three drummers were the coolest. That really added a lot to the performance. All of the songs were done a lot louder and heavier than normal, except "Perfect" which became acoustic. The band didn't do many old tines, I believe that "tonight tonight", and "Bullet with butterfly wings" were really the only ones, except for "1979" which was the encore. "Bullet with butterfly wings" was much different from the album, Billy was screaming so much. The band didn't talk much, except for Billy telling everyone that he loved them at the end. For the encore, he came out and said "I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but James was backstage talking shit about the packers". The audience booed and hissed. He then went on in a superfan accent about how all he does is sit around in his sport coat and drink beer and watch da bears. This got the crowd screaming. He talked a bit more about Wisconsin being all about cheese and beer, and said that "for the encore we want to do a nice song for you all" and they started 1979 w/o the usual well known opening riff. They finished up, and Billy told everyone goodnight and thanks before they played the next song, which was the cover of the joy division song "Transformer". Billy was muttering anything and everything in the song, and screaming radio at the top of his lungs. That concluded the concert. While he was blowing kisses and throwing out guitar picks at the end, a girl managed to make it onstage, and she was dancing around before being tossed by security to the police. I don't think Billy even saw her. This was the end, and they went backstage. I thought the concert was very good w/o the old stuff, after all, they aren't a greatest hits band. : )
