Hello,
My name is Aaron Shawn Hadsock, (most people call me ZERO).

I just went to the Smashing Pumpkins concert in Sunrise Florida and man it was awesome! And with this being my first concert, you can imagine what it was like to be only a few feet away from Billy, James, and D'arcy.

The song list included:
Ava Adore
Behold! The Night Mare
To Sheila
Tear
Pug
To Martha
Once Upon A Time
Annie-dog
Daphne Descends
Blank Page
Shame
and three (3) songs from Mellon Collie,
In The Arms Of Sleep
1979
Bullet With Butterfly Wings

I must say the anticipation grew with each passing moment, especially when they allowed us into the seating area... I mean I was so close to them I could have spit on the stage.

Anyway, the show started with To Sheila, beautifully done, as usual, followed by Behold! The Night Mare. Each song seemed as if it was being performed different than the way it was recorded. Billy, wearing what looked like black or dark purple pants, James wearing a blood reddish shirt, and darcy wearing silver pants, and a skin tight shirt that when certain lights were on, displayed more of what we love for.

Clipping I must say that evey song, including when Billy sang alone on Annie-dog, with only the pianist, was done with sheer majesty. Their alternate version of Bullet, made the theatre explode! At one point it seemed as if everything had stopped, with the entire theatre screaming in time, "Despite all my rage I'm still just a rat in a cage!".

I must say that evey song, including when Billy sand alone on Annie-dog, with only the pianist, was done with sheer majesty. Their alternate version of Bullet, made the theatre explode! At one point it seemed as if everything had stopped, with the entire theatre screaming in time, "Despite all my rage I'm still just a rat in a cage!".

At one point, Billy noticed there were two (2) empty seat in the second row, and told as he said " let that guy in the balcony with the ZERO t-shirt and his girlfriend come down here to these empty seats." Of couse the guy was hollering the entire way down. Billy then remarked, "If the people come back who have those seats, then I guess I'll have to let you get on stage with us.", with the entire theatre roaring.

When they performed To Martha, it was as if everyone knew what the song was about, and the theatre became alomst silent, as Billy sing the beautiful ode to his mother.

I must admit, the pianist was an amazement all himself, with variations of old time piano, swings, and blues all in the course of that one night.

And lest we forget Kenny, the drummer. His solo shocked all who witnessed it, making a lot of us believe that he just might be worthy of filling Jimmy's spot. But as we know, that may or may not ever happen, but if it were, all I can say is watch out.

After To Martha, Billy said "Thanks" and they walked off. But knowing how things were, no more than 10 minutes later, the returned with two gentlemen from Sunrise. Billy present them a check for $114,000 I think, and with plaque in hand, one gentleman (maybe the mayor) announced August 8, 1998 as Smashing Pumpkins Day in Sunrise Florida.

James after said... "Do you wanna rock?" and they went into a sort of acoustic type jam of "1979". It was awesome... the entire floor erupted with dancing.

At one point the security guard who was watching the front has left, and I hurridly ran up to the stage, with only a couple people in front of me. I must admit, I thought I was going to faint, I mean with having someone I idolize standing before me singing, it just blew me away.

After an excellent instrumental jam, Billy stood atop the speakers, waving an blowing kisses to everyone... I screamed out "BILLY!" and he looks down at me, we traded facial expressions, and he then gave me a thumbs up!. I thought my heart had stopped. You would never know what it was like to have the band who you've listened and studied every breathing word from, standing before you, and Billy, who has inspired me in his words and music, to actually acknowledge my existance.

So in closing, with the feedback from the guitars blaring, and the fan screaming... I finally felt contented.

My life is now complete.
