Have you ever had a three hour orgasm?? truly, one of my life long dreams and who knew the it would be induced by another man: Billy Corgan. After waiting what seemed like forever the crowd of 2500 went absolutely nuts when the lights went out and the only thing anyone could see was the pumpkins being led from the back by a man with a flashlight. They came out and without a word went into "to sheila". Billy looked apprehensive as he came onto the stage as if he was wondering what the crowd was going to be like, but by the second song, (not sure what it was) Billy was into it and playing his ass off. d'arcy was f**king hot with her see through shirt on. james was james--what else is there to say about the unsung hero of the smashing pumpkins?? and the drummer was amazing--he played his ass off the whole time. he was just wailing away on the drums while the pumpkins took a break and came back with "BWBW" --- all i can say is that drummer was f**king amazing. and his two buddies were pretty good too. and i can't forget about the piano guy--he was just beating on the keys-- it's concerts like this that make me not miss jimmy or john one bit. the concert raised just over $103,000 for the elon home for children. oh by the way---this was the f**king most amazing concert i have ever seen in my life. i knew it would be great when we got hooked up with 8th row tickets---a big jump from our next-to-last row sh*t boxes. then we saw d'arcy, the drummer(sorry i don't know his name), and Billy go into ovens auditorium. then we sat next to a guy who has been to like 70 SP concerts and who knew more about the band and had more cd's (legitimate and bootlegs) than any mortal should have. it was just amazing. the highlight of the night for me and my good buddy that came with me was when, during 1979, Billy looked over to our side of the crowd and we caught his eye and then we just went nuts and he smiled at us. he looked at us a lot and so did d'arcy. our seats were right in front of d'arcy and we were the people closest who were the most into it. d'arcy was checking me out. or at least that's what i like to think. anyway-- in reading the other set lists from the earlier shows, thursday's show was more or less the same ---- i think the last song they played was "radio" (Billy shortened it from 25 minutes to 23 minutes). and they also threw in the middle of the show an everlastingly awesome version of "through the eyes of ruby". did i mention how much ass this concert kicked?? my god. what else is there?? everything was perfect. even the song perfect was perfect. the intimate 2500 seat auditorium could barely hold the arena-type concert the pumpkins put on that night. had there been 3000 seats, 4000 seats, 40,000 seats--they all would have been sold and they all would have been worth it. Billy came out to the very front of the stage a lot---never before have i felt so close to someone i have never met. the slow jazzy "annie dog" was a surprise, but not quite as much as the band playing "stumbeline". i just hope my pictures come out. i shot like 30 pics in the 1st 30 minutes of the show. i also can't wait until the adore tour equivalent of "vieuphoria" comes out about christmas time. i hope i'm in it. i'll be the guy in charlotte with the devil horn hair and too much make up with my tall ass buddy with blue hair and twiggy make up on. hey---Billy smiled at us. |
