Hi there,

Here is my review of the show last night. Outside was crazy as many people were scapling very fake tickets for $40 and real ones for $150. I ended up waiting on line at 2:30 and the doors were supposed to open at 6. They didn't let us in till 6:30 and Queens of the Stone Age was so late that everyone was ready to kill them. They finally came on and played I think 5 songs. The first one and the scond to last songs were actually good, but the rest were lame. Overall, not too bad for an opening band.

After waiting another half hour, the pumpkins came on and went right into I am one. It sounded great, but the feeling of about 800 people crushing us against the stage was not fun. People just didn't understand that you can't walk through a person. The horrible shoving lasted till the end of Zero and started to lighten up. Thats when the show really became enjoyable because it was comfortable and the songs were just getting better. It was so hot in there I must have sweated off ten pounds.

La Dolly Vita was amazing and so was Pug. They then went into all their new songs while we all chanted Jimmy, Jimmy! Jimmy held his drumsticks in the air to acknowledge that he heard us and we all made more noise from that. I must say that their new songs are amazing. They are like Adore, but a little more rockish. Hard to describe. I will definitly buy the next CD based on what I heard (then again, I'd buy it anyway).

They finished up and left the stage. Someone in the crowd passed around signs that read 'Starla' in big black letters. It said on the bottom to hold it up at the beginning of the encore. Everyone complied and James played a quick three second riff from Starla. We all went nuts and the group broke right into Muzzle. Muzzle was so funny because they screwed up and had to stop. I don't know if this was planned or not, but it looked like Billy just cracked up laughing and they stopped. They tried to blame it on Jimmy, but it was cool. They tried again and stopped a second later. Everyone was laughing and cheering. They went into it again and got to the end that time.

All through the show, Billy talked to Jimmy by saying 'Jimmy, lets show them whose buff' and 'I'll let you start this one, Jimmy'. Every time Billy said something, we all cheered. James talked about Elvis and how Elvis used to play clubs and stuff like that. D'arcy was quiet for the most part except asking if we were ready to rock.

Billy had his typical black dress shirt on, James had on a silver shirt, D'arcy had on a blue tank top that read 'Flowers By Charlie'. She also had the cowboy hat on. Jimmy had on a Shell Gasoline racing shirt. I must say that he didn't look like any picture I've ever seen, but he was amazing on the drums.

The setlist was the same as the rest (as far as I know)and no real suprises. There was a song that sounded alot like Cash Car Star. It was amazing. It was the best SP show I've ever been to and I was honored to be within 15 feet of the best band on earth. Can't wait to see them again. Rock on Brian! Hope to see you at the next show.

Later,

Aaron C.
